Hello everyone. I am from Denver, Colorado but I have been living in Cuzco, Peru for the past two years. I have a Contemplative Psychology degree from a Buddhist University called Naropa. After I got my degree I worked in the mental health system for four years and then I worked at the detox in Boulder, Colorado helping the homeless alcoholics for 3 years. While working in the mental health system I saw what I felt to be a huge overuse of psych meds, this caused me to explore alternative methods of healing using energy and nature. During this time I became interested in the healing techniques used by indigenous tribes in South America. A couple of years ago I decided that I wanted to move to Peru and become fluent in Spanish. I talked about my plans with a Buddhist monk named Cielo. He looked at me and said, “THAT IS NOT SUFFICENT!” He asked me, “What are you doing to help other people? You need to be helping people every day or else your life will have very little value.” Since this conversation I have been living in Cuzco, Peru studying the healing ceremonies of the Qero Indians, but now my life has taken on a more humanitarian nature and I am working hard with donations that I receive to relieve some of the suffering on the planet. I am looking forward to joining you all in Argentina, so that together we can help build a better life for others.
